Today will be a mixed bag.
First, I have to give a shout out to MochaHost, my web host. My site was down and I did not even know it until I attempted to access it. I won’t bore you with technical crap, but an updated plug-in that automatically backs up the website was incompatible with the version of PHP3 that my version of Word Press was running on.

I contacted MochaHost via their online chat feature, and in less than a minute they updated PHP3 for me, an viola’ I was up and running again. I have used many web hosting companies in the past, always opting for the lesser known ones because they are competitive on price. Most have been a disappointment. Mochahost has had their issues in the past, but their technical supports is superb. Downtime is almost zero.
I wish I could say the same out the Arizona voting system. Thanksgiving is almost here, and our election under the leadership of Katie Hobbs is a mess. She wants to lead our state and she cannot even run an election. Her level of incompetence is astounding.
But enough about politics.
It is autumn in Arizona, and we finally have beautiful weather. Today we took the dogs to the Superstition Mountain Museum. I brought my Nikon to take some creative photographs. The SMM is an historical museum, all about the history of the Superstition Mountains.
The grounds of the museum are free to the public, and a minimal fee for the museum itself. The grounds is home to the barn and chapel from the old Apacheland Movie Studios. There is a blacksmith onsite. A 20-stamp mill. Lots of old mining equipment. The large scale model railroad. All in front of the beautiful backdrop of the Superstition Mountains.
The newest addition is a small Apache village of two wickiups and a ramada, all built in authentic tradition by Apache from the San Carlos reservation. The site was blessed this morning in a ceremony. The SMM is a museum, more than a tourist trap. You will learn all about the history of this little area of Arizona.
And on a final note, with the oppressive heat of the Arizona summer gone, I was finally able to get back into the studio and attack some canvasses. So be sure to check back to see the progress of my latest paintings.
